Rabbi Berl Zweibel says his civil rights were violated at the Broward County Jail when they forced him to remove his yarmulke, a religious head covering. “Each person is entitled to their religious freedom,” Zweibel’s attorney Michael Citron said.
“This does not just apply to Jewish males,” Citron said. “This applies to anyone. Whether they are wearing a hijab, a turban a keffiyeh.
“When you are behind bars you are not without rights, especially when it comes to your faith.”
